2010 - Registration - Team

Team

Athletes may compete as relay teams of two or three athletes, with each athlete doing one leg of the race. Teams may be male, female or co-ed.

Teams may also choose to participate, if all members qualify, in one of three optional races-within-a-race:

The Roll Call Congressional Challenge

The Military Challenge

The Tri Club Challenge

Awards are given to the top male, female and co-ed teams.

Athletes competing as a team complete the race as a relay, with each member starting their leg of the race following the completion of the previous leg. For example, the swimmer starts the race and after completing the swim portion, he or she meets the biker in the transition area to hand off the timing chip. The biker then hops on his or her bike and heads out onto the bike course. Once the biker returns to the transition area, the timing chip is turned over to the runner in the transition area.
